How Nozzlet works

Nozzlet connects you with local makers for 3D printing, laser cutting and engraving, CNC machining and more. It's free for customers, and you arrange your project and payment directly with the maker you choose.

For customers

1. Find the right maker

There are three ways to start:

  • Search. Look for makers by location, service, or material. Filter by distance, shipping, and who's accepting projects. Find makers near you →
  • Upload your file. Upload a 3D file (STL, 3MF, OBJ, STEP, and other common formats) and we'll show you nearby makers who offer the right service and material and can print it at that size. Coming soon
  • Post a request. Describe your project, add files if you have them, and let makers send you bids. Post a request →

Not sure what you need? Start here for the basics in plain words, or choose a material by what you're making. Your maker can recommend the right material too.

2. Talk it through

  • Create a free account and confirm your email to message makers.
  • Ask questions, share details, and get quotes.
  • Some makers show instant price estimates, and makers using Nozzlet Works can send automatic quotes based on your file and their real costs.

3. Compare bids (if you posted a request)

Any number of makers can send you a bid. You stay in control:

StatusWhat it means
SubmittedA maker has sent you a bid
In discussionYou've flagged a bid and are talking with that maker (you can have several at once)
AcceptedYou've chosen this maker. Other makers are told politely that the job was filled
ClosedYou've closed the request. It stays open until you close it

4. Get it made

Agree on the details with your maker. You pay the maker directly, the way they prefer. Nozzlet doesn't handle payments for jobs and never adds fees.

5. Leave a review

After working with you, your maker can send you a review request. Reviews can only be left by customers who've actually been in touch with a maker, which keeps reviews real.

Your files are private

  • When you post a request, makers see a preview only (a 3D view with size and volume) so they can bid. They can't download your file.
  • A maker can download your file only when you mark their bid In discussion, or when you send a request directly to them.
  • Tick Confidential to hide the preview completely and share your file only with makers you choose.
  • Files are deleted automatically 90 days after your request is closed or accepted, and you can delete them any time.
  • When uploading, you confirm you have the right to have the design printed.

Good to know

  • Nozzlet is a directory, not a middleman. We help you find and contact makers. Your agreement, payment, and delivery are between you and the maker.
  • Disagreements are handled between you and the maker. If a job goes badly, you can say so in a review.
  • See something wrong? Use the Report button on any listing, message, review, or ad, and our team will take a look.
  • "Featured makers" appear at the top of search because they're on a paid plan. We always label them.
