Flexible resin produces soft, rubber-like parts with more detail than flexible filament. It's often used for prototypes that need to look and feel like rubber. Like all resin prints, parts are washed and cured under UV light after printing. Uncured resin is a skin irritant, but properly cured finished parts are safe to handle.

What Flexible resin is good at

  • Rubbery with fine detail: Captures small features that flexible filament can't.
  • Soft touch: Good for grips and cushioned parts.

Where it falls short

  • Wears faster than TPU: It can tear under repeated stretching.
  • Costs more: Specialty resin, and harder to print.
  • Sunlight: Can stiffen or yellow over time.

Is Flexible resin right for my project?

It's usually a good fit if your item:

  • is small and detailed
  • needs to be soft or rubbery
  • won't take heavy wear

For hard-wearing flexible parts, TPU is usually better.

Common questions
