Everything a small print shop tracks, in one place.

Nozzlet Works replaces the spreadsheet with tools built around how 3D printing actually works: plates, grams, print hours and the hours you're awake.

True job costing

Know the real cost of every plate before you set a price. Nozzlet Works adds up:

  • Filament, by the gram, with a waste allowance
  • Electricity, from your printer's power draw and your local rate
  • Printer wear, spread across its expected service life
  • Maintenance and shop overhead, per print hour
  • Hands-on labour, from the minutes you spend on each plate
  • A failed-print reserve, so the occasional spaghetti doesn't eat your profit

You get a suggested price based on your target margin, with a minimum job charge so small prints still pay. Prices can be entered with GST and PST included, and tax is removed before profit is calculated.

Nozzlet Works plate cost for two self-watering planters: filament $6.43, electricity, printer depreciation, maintenance, overhead, 10 minutes of labour and a 5% failed-print reserve, for a plate cost of $19.09.

Profit per print hour

A printer's time is your most limited resource. Nozzlet Works ranks your products by gross profit per print hour and per 100 g of filament, so you can see which jobs are worth the machine time and which to reprice or drop.

Nozzlet Works pricing for a magnetic desk organizer: cost $24.60, retail $45.00, profit $20.40 or $2.91 per print hour, and a 45.3% margin.

Filament inventory

Track every spool by material, brand and colour, with cost per kilogram worked out for you. When a job is marked complete, the filament it used comes off your stock, so you know what's on the shelf without weighing spools.

Quotes and orders

Keep every job in one place, from first question to finished sale. Build a quote with suggested prices from your real costs, adjust anything you like, and add private notes such as "needs it before the 15th". When the customer says yes, turn the quote into an order in one click. Every detail carries over, the print jobs go onto your calendar, and filament and supplies come off stock as each job is finished.

Track each order from printing to shipped, keep a simple record of what's been paid, and see your customer's full history of quotes and orders. Customers pay you directly. Nozzlet Works never takes a cut. Sending quotes to customers as a PDF or email link is coming.

Scheduling around your day

Your printer can run 24/7, but you can't. Drag jobs onto a calendar and set your waking hours. Nozzlet Works shows where each job will finish, so long prints run overnight and plate changes land when you're up. Fewer idle hours means more printing from the machines you already own.

Parts and shipping supplies

Most print tools stop at filament. Nozzlet Works also tracks the hardware and packaging your products need, such as nuts, bolts, magnets, inserts, boxes and labels. Supplies count toward product costs and come off stock the same way filament does.

Printer maintenance

Schedule upkeep by print hours, such as nozzle changes, lubrication and belt checks. Reminders show up before a job is due, not after a failed print.

Multiple printers

Add each printer with its own purchase cost, power draw and service life. Costs and schedules are worked out per machine, so a second or fifth printer doesn't mean a second spreadsheet.

Works on computer and phone

Nozzlet Works runs in your web browser. Plan the week at your desk, and check what's printing from your phone.

Coming after launch
